. [From Otto Correspondent.] WELLINGTON, September 10. A COLONIAL APPEAL COURT. Mr WilfoTd intends to ask the Government if it will consider the advisableneas of the appointment and constitution of a Colonial Court of Appeal, in lieu of the expensive and tedious process which now ! has to be adopted in reference to appeals from decisions of the Courts of Appeal of the colony. CHRISTCHUROH TECHNICAL CLASSES. Mr Taylor is to ask the Minister of Education what the Government proposes to do to carry on the excellent technical classes in the City of Christcburch, estab- ; listed under the Manual and Technical Instruction Act, which the present Board of i Managers announce they are going to abandon at the end of the present term, owing to insufficient accdVtnodatkm and funds. THE LAND COMMISSION. Mi\ E. G. Allen is to ask the Premier if he will inform the Housa before the end of this session when the Royal Commission on land settlement and land tenure will commence their duties, and also as to the personnel of the said Commission. GOVERNMENT GEOLOGIST. Mr Jennings has given notice of his intention to ask the Minister of Mines wheh a geologist will foe appointed! to fill the position vacated by Sir James Hector, and in. filling such position, will he taks into consideration the applicetiona of suitable persons now residing in this colony. SCHOOL COMMITTEES' FUNDS. , Mr TayW is to ask the Minister of Education whether it 4s the intention of the Government to subsidise this year the incidental funds of school committees by special vote, as was done last year. PISHING NOTICES. The Hon Sir W. J. Steward is asking the Colonial Secretary whether he will give directions that during the eosuing fishing season the state of the Waitaki, Rawgitata, Rakaia and other rivers should be posted daily e-t the various telegraph ; offices, for the information of angkn^ in the same manner as in previous seasons. TELEPHONE CONSTRUCTION. The- Petitions Committee, in reporting on a petition for the extension of country telephones, says that while expressing no opinion as to the value of telephone' construction with the beat possible materials, there appears some ground for recommending the Government to adopt some cheaper method of telephone construction, to' outlying districts. ,
