Blackmailing foreign companies have seized the Asphalt Lake at Guanoco, and a railway worth two million sterling. Tbe New York and Bermudez Asphalt Company, the seizure of whose property the Court of Caracas recently ordered, had invoked British and American protection in connection ■citli the seizures.
