ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
(Peb Press Association.] WAIHJ, June 22. Two men named A. Mathias and Daniel Wilson, while working in a small shaft about No. 2 level of the Waihi Gold Mining Company's mine, were buried yesterday by a fall of timber. After four and a half hours of rescue work Wilson was got out uninjured, but Mathias was dead. The men were only divided' by%& foot. Mathias was evidently crushed !by*the falling timber, while Wilson was only pinned across his middle. The men spoke to eaoh other after the accident, Mathias saying "I'm done." Deceased was a well-known footballer, and leaves a young wife and infant child.
STRATFORD, June 22. A man, whdW name is unknown, was found dead last evening in the cemetery, with a -whisky bottle half full beside him. WELLINGTON, June 22.
A patient at the Porirua Asylum, named E. Davis, a married woman, w»3 found drowned in a, water sink last evening under circumstances v/hich point to suicid®.
