A DEAD SOCIETY.

[Pir Pbess Association.] DUNEDIN, June 8. Several cases against n^embers of the Otago Sailmakers' Union for arrears, of subr soriptions. were given in favour of defendanta hj Mr Graham in thjeT Magistrate's Court to-day, on the ground that the Union was defunct, in* that all members were twelve months in arrear in 1903. There were, therefore, no members on the books of the Society, and no returns had been cent to the Labour Department ac provided by the Act. The allegation of the plaintiffs that the Union had been resurrected was an impossibility, as it was already dead.
