■ ' - THIS DAY. [Pan thb " Stab's " Pigson Exp&bbs.l The attendance was larga and supplies were good. ""X Fat Cattle. — The entry comprised 210 head, and was of good average quality. Competition was fairly steady, and previous week's values were maintained. ; Butchers state that good beef cost 255, but omitting exceptional lots the quotations of 22s 6d for prime and 18s for cow beef hold good. A line from Hawkswobd brought £8 7s 6d tc. £12 5s for ten steers, and £7 to £9 10s for seven heifers ; fourteen steers from Mr F. W. Cordj', Hororata, fetched £6 17s 6d to £9 17s 6d ; and other lots sold at for steers £6 15s to £10 ss, heifers £5 17s 6d to £7 15s, and cows £5 10s to £9 10s. x Fat Calves, made from 10s 6d to £2. Fat Sheep. — There was a large entry. The sale opened at about last week's values. 'Fat£-\_ambs. — A fair entry of fat lambs met slower competition than last week, but prioes were little, if any lower, exporters taking the bulk of the entry. Prime ireezers made 15s to 16s 9d, lighter 12s 9d to Ife 6d, tegs 17s to 17s 6d, and a few extra pens to 19s 6d. Y 1 Stobe Shee.* and Lambs. — The supplyshowed a falling off, but the demand was as keen as ever, and previous week's rates were fully maintained. Pigs. — There was a fair entry. Baconers were firm, making 44s to 555, or 4£d per lb ; good porkers were firmer, selling at 30s to 445, equal to 4*Jd and s£d per lb; large rsores also were dearer at 23s to 38s ; smaller pigs were dull at from 14s to 20s for slips and 6? to 8s for suckers.
