CYCLING.

The employees of Messrs E. Recce and Sons held * cycle road race last evening, for a. prize given by Ml' E. Recce. The Wiifner was H. Throp (60se<!), C. Pugh (75i?ec) being second. Time— 2lmin lOsec. P. M'Callum (75sec) secured the prize for fastest unplaced rider. Thomas, Hocking, Holland, Sladen, Miller, Hayley and Dixon also started. Messrs C. Throp and A. L. Alexander acted as judges, and Mr K. Bassett ac 6t6rter and timekeeper.

A meeting of the committee of the Christchurch Cycling and Motor Club yraa ; held last evening, Mr J. H. Tompkins in the chair. The secretary reported that a cable had been sent to' the AgentGeneral of New Zealand in London asking him to send 'by first mail the plans and specifications of the Canning Town cycle track in London. A communication was received f r-om J. Chalmers, the Victorian rider, stating that he would arrive in Christchurch on Friday next to compete at the clvb 1 * Good Friday .meeting. It was decided to enter him fofc all events at Kaiapoi for Easter Monday. It wna also decided to invite alLvlsiting cyclists to the championship and Good Friday meeting to the club's "billy" run on March 27. Messrg H. Price, E. Lftwson. C. Goggin. G. W> Fra&er, T. A. Goodfellow and J. E. Bates were appointed a House Committee to superintend the clubroom. The secretary was empowered to purchase one hundred jerseys in the club's colours, to be used in, club runs. The inattep Of placing a lamp outside the clubroom was left to a suTi-com-mittee to report. The treasurer and secretary were given power to invest £300 for the club in the Savings Bank.
