At yesterday's wool sale merinoes were exceedingly firm, and cross-breds were keenly competed for, excepting coarse faulties. American buyors were operating freely. Amby Downs Mangator clip brought Bid,"w.D. "(New Zealand) 9§d. Wheat. — Eleven thousand quarters of Australian wheat, January-February shipments, were sold at 295. * Copper.— On spot £56 15s per ton, three months' £56 lis 3d per ton. ' Tin. — On spot £126 5s per ton, three months' £128 15s -per ton. Silver, 2s l|d per oz. (Reoeived January 29, ' 10 a.m.) The wool market to-day was firm, with slightly better prices for scoured* merinoes. Messrs Dalgety and Company,- Limited, liave received the following cable message from* their London office, dated January 28 : — A small business is doing in frozen mutton and lamb at full prices. No demand for frozen beef; for which prices are unchanged.
