There are twelve candidates in Dunedin for free places, and one in Oamaru. The examinations in connection with the Junior National Bcholar,s!biips were commenced at the Normal School this morning. Twenty-eight candidates were present from the districts 'represented by -the Obirstchurch formal School and the Ashburton High School and Akaroa District High School. Mr L. B.
