The elections to fill the vacancies in the State Assembly, caused by the resignations of members to contest the Federal elections, resulted in the return of Mr Methven, Independent, for the Bourke Borough; Mr Glasson f&f Villd's, Hfcytesfoury ; Mr Tunnicliffe, Labour, lor W«st Melbourne ; and Mr Roberts, Labour> for Richmond. The Government did hot put forward any candidates, and little interest was taken.
