PIGEON FLYING.
♦ The Lyttelton Homing Society flew a race on Tuesday (from Waipapa, a distance of 130 miles air-line. The birds were liberated in a fog, and no wind. The result was as follows : —Mr F. Walklin's Buttercup, velocity 876 yds per minute, 1; Mr J. F. Forman's Last Chance. 860 yds, 2; Mr KnowWa Premier Dick, 847 yds, 3; Mr J. G-. Forman'a Patience, 722 yds, 4. The club desires Ho thanlt-^fe Duncan ior liberating the birds.
