WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
A country gentleman, -who was staying in London, bough* three bulldogs from different dealers and sent them to a livery stable near by. He was. recalled home un* expectedly the same day, gleaning to have tie /dogs sent after Mm, when he received the following letter from tlhe ttable^ keeper : — "Dear Sir, — Your three dogs received safely. I locked them uj> together ia a* box-stall. — Yours obediently, J. Jackson. "P.S. — We have only one box-stall. "P.P.S. — You will have to buy some more dogs."
