United Press Association— By Eleotrio , Telegraph— dopyright. (Received September 2> t 8.44 . a.m.) ADELAIDE, 'September 2. The Adelaide Wheel Race resulted as followa:—^Pye 1, Palmer 2, Champness 3. A meeting of the committee of the COiristchurch Cycling .Club was -held last evening in the clu'bhou^, Mr Lawson in the ciair. It was decided to accord Mr\ J. Ainst a reception on his return to CJhri^tchanrch, and Messrs Lawson, Barker and the secretary were appointed a sub-commstfcee to, mst^e arrangements. The annual hiilclimibing championshap and opening run were fixed to take place on October 18. It was decided to hold a, motor cycle race on Thursday, September 'l7, ti»e course to be to Waddington and. back, the prizes to be £5 first, £3, second a<ad..£l third. On a motion by Mr Boyd it was decided to approach ail the leading cycling clubs of New Zealand with reference to the payment of appearamoe money to locat ricK^rs, and asking their sup-port to stop tie practice, it being the opinion of the committee that only travelling expenses should be allowed.
