NAPOLEON'S GREAT MISTAKE.
Th© really great mistake af Napoleon HI. was his persistent attempt to be on a friendly footing with Prussia, amd even to havo a special understanding with, that power (says the "Times"). He never realised that such a policy was impossible, because Prussia was aiming steadily to acquire the position which France then, occupied in Europe. Nothing that Napoleon 111 could have done would iaive turned the attention of Prussia from this object.
