SUPREME COURT.
Friday, May 8/ (Before his Honor Mr Justice Denniston.) IN CHAMBERS. His Honor Mr Justice Denniston held a sitting in Chambers this morning. In Divorce, Mr Hunt; obtained an order for secrvice to be 'dispensed with when .an advertisement of the petition is inserted in the "Lyttelton Times" and " Press " newspapers, a defence to be filed within twenty-eight days of service. Mr Hunt obtained letters of administration in the estate off Ellen Reed, Mr Hall obtained probate in the estate of A. D. Austin, and' 'Mr Johnston in the estate of Thomas Ross. IN BANCO. In Banco, the case of England', appellant, and Stringer, respondent, was heard. It was an appeal ifrom tke decision of the Stipendiary Court in Christchurch. Mr Fisher appeared for appellant and Mr Stringer for the respondent. The appeal was dismissed, with seven guineas costs. In the matter of the marriage settlement of John Deans, a petition for an order to register a dteedi of settlement, Mr Stringer appeared for the Commissioner of Stamps and Mr Hall for the trustees. The .motion was removed, by consent, to the Court of Appeal.
