A LITTLE RIVER TRAGEDY.
SUICIDE IN A CLEAN SHIRT. An old Maori named) Tommy Te Waaka, in the- employ of Messrs Bird Ling Bios, afc Birdling's Flat, committed suicide in a most determined manner. The deceased returned to 'h:g whare yesterday afternoon and changed his clothing), putting on a clean white shirt, then, taking his gnin, got into bed. He fastened' apiece of string on to the trigger of this gun and passed! the string around! the foot of the bedstead, rolled up his shirt to the shoulders, and shot himself in the region of the heart, the charge passing right through the body. An inquest will be held to-day.
