Lieutenant-General Sir James Bevan Ed-
wards has been oppointed Colonel Commandant of the Royal Engineers. .
(General Edwards, who is Mi tie retired list, served in the Crimean War, the 1 Indian Mutiny, and China, afcd in the Suakim Expedition in 1885. He was Commandant of the School of Military Engineering from 1885 to 1838, and commanded the troops m China from 18.3 to 18.0. He eat in InHouse of Commons, as Conservative member for Hytbe, from 1835 to 1839.)
