The dockers and others engaged in the water transport have struck, and the diamond cutters have struck in sympathy. The streets of Amsterdam are so crowded with' demonstrators, roughs and idlers that .the police, to disperse them, drew their sabres. One man had a hand severed, and the Gendarmes andl Dragoons charging, several persons were /trampled under their horsesfeet. Tho authorities declare that the horses became affrighted. (Asa protest, against the anti-strike law*, ; all the Hollanders engaged on land tramV porfc have struck. Troops guard the railways and the quays. The foreign expresses run under military protection.)
