WIRELESS TELEGRAPHY.

| NEW YORK, Jan. 23. Signor Marconi arrived here to-day from his wireless telegraph station at Well Fleet, Cape Cod. His apparatus for communicating between that point and Poldhu, England, 3000 miles away, is complete, except for a few minor changes that are to be made on the other side. Signor Marconi is now reaily to establish direct wireless communication between Italy and Argentina, countries 6000 miles apart, and, as he said to-day, that is to 'be his nexfr undertaking. He is going to Italy and to Argentina, to select sites for two stations. The wireless system is to be 'backed 'by the Italian Government, and there is no question in the minds of Signoi- Marconi and his friends and business as.-ociates here that diroct communication between Italy and Argentina will be as successful as it is now between Cape Cod and Cornwall. The distance over which a, wireless message may be sent depends only on the amount of power, and the power used to send that message from President Roosevelt to King Edward the other day was not more than 'half the power required to operate on or-Ji-nary electric automobile. Signor Marconi was asked if his system, was as practicable for the Pacific ;<s 'for the Aalantic. "Oh, yes," ho roplkrl, " but we have not yet taken up consideration of the trans-Pncilic wireless service. In a month, however, I will 'bepin on one of 'ju*t as great a. dis-t-incc, 6000 miles, between Argentina and Italy.- -===
