• _ — + NEW ZEALAND RIFLE ASSOCIATION. [Per Press Associations] WELLINGTON, Dec. 19. The programme for the annual meeting of the New Zealand Rifle Association has been issued. The meeting will open at Trenfcham on Thursday, March 5, and £1013 is to be offered in; prizes, exclusive of trophies. The King's Prize takes the place of the- Champion Match, the' conditions being, that the fifty highest aggregates in the Auckland, WeUington, Nelson, Canterbury and Ofcago matches shall fire in the final stage of 700yds, fifteen sfhofcs tp decide* who 'holds the Belt! In the matches mentioned, a certain amount of prize-money is io be' allotted to tyros, that is, men who have never won a prize at any New ZeaJand Rifle Association meeting. The service matches include snap-shooting, a cover match, Volunteer matches, a carbine maJ/cV a Defence Cadet match, a ra£id-firing match, a disappearing target match and carbine snap-shooting, j The team matched include volley-firing, rapidfiring, competitions of companies and teams marches. Ammunition and sighting shots will be supplied free. Competitors must use ■only the class of weapon with which their corps or clubs are armed. Magnifying sights, artificial rests, shading or sheltering or assistance of any kind when fir- . ing, are prohibited. Orthoptics will be air lowed in the Belt matches only. Competitors will not be allowed to use any kind of oil or' grease afe a lubricant for bullets.
