Cook, Wil- . liam Murray, alias Anderson. WiMiaan John Belworthy and John H_ckett were charged; that, on Sept. 15, they stole from the Forester- 1 Hotel a quantity of W___}l__y y yaltied at 3s. Mr Donnelly appeared for Hacfcett, who pleaded not ghilty. On the application of Chief-Detective Chrystal Uhe case was adjourned until Friday, bail be-, ing allowed in two sureties of £25 each, or one of £50. Ai.iiEC.ED Obscene Language. — John Hackett was further charged with having used obscene language on Sept. 15, in the bar of the Masonic Hotel. Mr Donnelly asked that this case also should be adjourned'till Friday, and the request was- granted. Breach of a Prohibition Order.-— Robert Russell pleaded guilty to a charge of having, on August 28, entered an hotel and purchased liquor there during the currency of a prohibition order against him. He was fined 20s and costs. Adjourned Cases.— Several maintenance cases were adjourned- for a day, as were a charge of attempted rape agamst; John Walters and a charge of failing to provide for ihis iUegit-ima.e child, against Arthur G. Nelson.
