EARTHQUAKES AT CHEVIOT.

SEVERE SHOCKS. CHIMNEYS CRACKED AND A ROAD DAMAGED. [From Our Correspondent.] CHEVIOT, Sept. 11. Last night there was a recurrence of the earthquakes. At half-past eleven one of the heaviest shocks felt since November last was experienced, causing considerable alarm. The noise accompanying the shocks was deafening. During the night the shocks continued with more or lass severity, the booming being very alarming. Several chimneys are badly cracked, and there is another slip on the Bluff Road.
