The New Zealand Rugby Union, at a speoial meeting held last niglit with reference to the competitions for. the Ranfurly Challenge Shield, resolved, by sixteen votes to eleven, thap the holders of the Shield shall refund to a challenging Union reasonable expenses of transit, the Management Committee of the . New Zealand Union to be sole judges of what expenses are reasonable. The Auckland and) Otago delegates opposed the motion. It was decided that the competition should begin witK the first interprovincial game of this season.
