SHIMMING.

A meeting of the commitee of the Sydenham Amateur Swimming Club -was held last evening. Mr C. Schneider was in the chair, and there were also present — Messrs Russell, Woodward, Gill, Kent, Sibbald and Hobbs. Mr A. M. Russell was elected to fill the vacancy on the committee caused by the removal of Mr R. EV Hall to Auckland. Correspondence was received from the Sydenham Borough Council expressing regret at its ' inability to make the improvements to the bath suggested by the club, owing to the excessive cost. The Council of the Association wrote enclosing a<copy of the draft revised rules. The rules -were carefully! gone through, and several alterations recommended, which the delegates were instructed to endeavour to have made. Satisfaction was expressed at-":' the very complete nature of the rules, which reflected great credit on those responsible for their revision. 'It W*as resolved to hold the annual -preseaitation of prizes on Wednesday, July 16. at the Wesleyan Sch-oolroa;u, to ...keltha foami oi -a concert. The Hon Secretary reported that the club .members h<ad done exceptionally well in inter-club events th&a ■season, securing 12 wins, 4 seconds and 1 third. Accounts amounting to £17 3s 7d were passed for payment, and a vote of thanks to the chairman te_mi__a.ted the meeting. .
