PRESENTATIONS.

A number of the principal residents of Lyttelton met at the Canterbury Hotel yesterday evening to make a presentation to Mr Mark Thomas, of the> firm of Agar and Thomas, who is about to pay a. visit to England. The Rev E. Eliot Chambers presided, and referred* to the general respect felt for Mr Thomas, and on behalf of the subscribers presente<3Mnm with a gold ohain, bearing ja Maltese Cross of gold, the subscribers' presented himwifch a gold appropriate inscriptfion- on a silver plate, and a Kaiapoi rug for Mrs t Thomas, whose initials were worked upon it. The health of Mr Thomas was drunk with due. honours, and he made a fitting response. The toasts of the Chairman, and the host, Mr Campbell Brown, we're also honoured.
