NEW BRIGHTON TRAMWAY COMPANY.
ANNUAL MEETING. The seventeenth annual meeting of shareholders in the New Brighton Tramway Company, Limited', was held in the rooms of the 'Canterbury Caledonian Society at 2 p.m. to-day, but the representatives oi the Press were not permitted to attend. The report submitted by the directors ■showed a credit to* profit and Ibss on the year's working, together with the amount brought forward from the previous year, of £712 11s 7d. The vacancy on the directorate caused -by the death of Mr.C. Cuff, one of the promoters of the company, had been filled by *he appointment of Mr A. W: 'Money. The balance-sheet submitted showed: — Liabilities : Dr.— To Bank of uSTew^ Zealand, £1675 19s 8d ; to dividends unpaid, 16s ; to suspense account, unexpired tickets, £52 11s sd; to purchase money owing for T.S. 686, Worcester Street, Christchurch, £1100; to balance, £9014 lls 7d ; total, £11,843 18s Bd. To capital account : 8500 shares at £1, £8500, less uncalled £198 ; to profit and loss account £712 lls 7d ; total £9014 lls 7d. Assets : Cr.— 'By Bank •of New Zealand, dividend account, 16s ; by horses, £900 1656 d ; by land 1 , £1630 19s ; by harness, £150 ; by rolling stock, £1800 ; by construction, £6935 6s 2d; by furniture, £10 ; by guards' cash, £2 10s ; by accounts 'owing, £37 ; by stock (feed), £376 lls ; total £11,843 18s 8d ; by balance of assets over liabilities, £9014 lls 7d ; total £9014 lls 7d.
