At a special meeting, of the Richmondl School Committee held on Thursday evening Miss Kate E. Newton was appointed assistant mistress. Mrs G. T. Smith, who is severing his connection with the North Canterbury Cooperative Stores Company to become representative and auctioneer for Messrs Dalgety and Co. at Cheviot, was entertained by the employees of the Co-op.
