♦ ■ — The Cabinet has authorised the distribution ,of £1875 to the various Education Boards of the colony, for the instruction of their teachers in manual and technical work. The proposal of the Government to establish a Maori Village at Pamona, on the Wanganui River, where young Natives who have already received some education may be instructed in manual and technical work, has the approval of the Natives of th« district They have undertaken to give every assistance in the matter, and have also agreed to eet apart twenty acres of first-class land as a site for the village. It is proposed that the village shall be occupied by twenty families, and that each shall have an acre. The necessary buildings will be erected by the Government' without delay. A small rental will be charged for each tenement.
