ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
[Peb Prkss Association.] AUCKLAND, Peb. 18. At the inquest touching the death, of Michael Fagan, who was found drowned oa Peb. 4, with a wound in his breast, Dr Low stated that the wound might ha.ye been caused by the horn of a bullock. Other witnesses gave evidence that the deceased had received such a wound. A verdict of "Death from drowning" was returned, the jury adding that there was no evidence to show how the deceased got into- the water. HOKITIKA, Peb. 18. A miner named William Wall' was washed down a tail-race at Rimu yesterday^ a distance of 1600 ft, and had a miraculous escape, 'being only, cut about his head and bruised about hie body. His injuries are not serious. A child of Mr Frank Partridge, of Burwood, died -suddenly, at 7.30 a.m. to-day, under circumstances which will probably render an inquest necessary. , The little boy named . Sydney Parsons, who was run over by the St Albans steam.roller yesterday, died at Mrs PopVs Private Hospital last night. The body was removed to the City Morgue to-dary. An inquest will be held before Mr R. Beetham, district coroner, at 4.30 p.m. A cab that was being driven along ManChester Street this morning ran over and killed a collie dog.
