Mr G. Sutherland, the champion of New Zealand, arrived at the Bluff iiota Melbourne this morning by the Mokoia, and will reach Christcburch on Saturday nignt. Mr W. Martin, the famous American rider, j who is entitled from his record to be looked on as the greatest racing cycust.m the colonies, is coming over from Melbourc* by the Talune, and will reach the Biuft next week. Both these riders will taKe part in the Christchurch Cycling y lul^ Good Friday Meeting, and Sutherland will also he a competitor at the Championship Meeting, to be held at InvercargUl on March 12.
