■ -* J. . ] The Culverden train this morning included among its passengers the following, on their way to Hanmer Springs : — Miss L. Cunninghame, of Christchurch ; Mr T. M. Cunninghame and Mrs W. H. Steenson, both of OamaTU ; Mr S. and Mrs Williams and Miss A. Goodchild, of Christchurch ; Mr J. Nicholls, Mrs Jameson and Mrs R. Mitchell, of St Albans ; Mr and Master A. Morland, of Addington. Mr Justice Williams left Dunedin. for Wellington this morning to take the criminal sittings there. After disposing of the criminal business in Dunedin the Chief Justice will go on to InvercargiH to take the- half-yearly sitting there. The Dunedin correspondent of this paper telegraphs that Mr W. V. Siddall, who has been, appointed' town clerk at Woolston, is to be tendered' a complimentary benefit by the residents of Invercargill in recognition of his many years' service as bandmaster of the Garrison Band there. It is reported that Lieutenant-Colonel Wales, of Dunedin, has been asked to accept nomination to the Representation Commission, in place of Dr Hislop, who has resigned. ' »
