New Zealand beef, 1801 b to -2201b per quarter, fair ayeraage quality, ox foreqiiarters, 3£d! ox hindquarters 4fd.) * Silver, 2s 1 7-16 d per ounce. Copper— Three months' £54 7s 6d per ton. Tin— On spot £114 5s per ton, • three months, £109 5s p£r ton. Lead— lmports last month were 22,846 tons, including 7917 tons from. Australia, and exports 2988 'tons.

The average price to-day of Canterbury lamb is S^d, and tbe market is weak. - Australian is io large supply. There is no alteration in the beef market. The stocks of New Zealand beef on hand are light. Butter, Ills per. cwt. The market is very firm. There is no alteration in the cheese market. Hemp is firm ; good fair Wellington £38 per ton, June and August shipments £35 per ton. Cocksfoot is steady ; New 'Zealand, 17ib standard, 40s per cwt."
