The New South Wales revenue for sevenmonths, including a return of £1,333,000 from the Commonwealth, ' totalled £6,780,000, an increase of £824,000 compared with the revenue for the same period 1 last year. The Federal tariff contributed £434,000 of this increase. 'The Premier claims that the balance is an actual increase in the earning power of the State. Tbet expenditure, including the proportion paid to the Commonwealth, was £6,948,000, 4 comparative increase of £60,444, of which the railways and tramways absorbed £35,000 and the, old. age 'pension* £225,000. . "
