THE BROUGH SEASON.
« To-night at the Theatre Royal Mr Robert Brough and his company will commence a farewell season in Christchurch. The fame of Mr and Mrs Brough and the certainty that from them something exceptionally good may be expected, should be sufficient to fill the Theatre Royal, but the fact that they are to bid farewell to New Zealand invests the occasion witH additional interest. The repertoire for the farewell tour of the company is a splendid one, and includes many plays new to Christchurch audiences. The opening bill is a Carton comedy, "Lady Huntworth's Experiment," and is spoken of by the Australian Press as being one of the best ever presented to theatre-goers. The scenery and mounting are especially well spoken of, whilst the dresses worn are beautiful creations of the dressmakers' art. The box plan 'has been well patronised and the season should be eminently successful.
