THE KAIAPOI SENSATION.
«$ A large number of people assembled outside the Ksi;i»wi Courthouse at half-past tt-n on .Saturday evening, in the evident expectation of seeing Tritt as he emerged f»v>m tits building. The police, however, kept the accused inside till most of the public had dispersed, and then took him to ihe cell, where he remained for the night, i'esterday, about noon, Detective Bailey, with hi.; charge, drove to Chri-stchurch on his way to Lyttekon. Tritt will l)e taken back to Kaiapoi t» attend the adjourned inquest, which will be re-opened at 2 p.m. tomorrow, to hear some further evidence. Public feeling runs very high in Kaiapoi over the affair.
