Lamb.—Prime Canterbury 4Jd ; fair average,. ins eluding- Dunedin. Southland; Wellington and secondary Canterbury, 4£d. Bivtr Plate Mutton. — Cross-bred or merino wethers, heavy and light, both 3|d. New Zealand beef,* 1801 b to 2201 b per quarter, fair average quality, ox fore-quarters 2|d, ox hind-quarters 3|'d.) Copper, on spot £63 7s 6d pea- ton, three months' £62 7s 6d per ton. Tin, £112 10s per ton. Lead, £11 8s 9d per ton. [Per Press Association.] : WELLINGTON, Oct. 21. The Agent : General's weekly cable message, dated London, Oct. 19, is as follows : — " 4'anterbury mutton. 3 5-8 d per Ib, Dunedin and Southland 3£d, North Island »3|d, | the Papanui's damaged cargo 2 7-Bd, River j Plate 3id. Mutton is very dull. The marI ket is over-supplied with heavy carcases of River Plate mutton in large supply. There I is no alteration in the lamb market since j last week. Beef is weak, and supplies of [ River Plate beef are large. (NeAv Zealand hindquarters 3gd, f^requarters 2|d. There is a good demand for butter ; Canadian 110s per cwt, Danish 127s per cwfc. Cheese is dull ; Canadian 45s per cwt. Hemp is very firm ; New Zealand ' good, fair Wellington ' on spot £31 per ton, January and March shipment £28 10s per ton." Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, have received the following cable message from tlieir London Office, under date Oct. 18: — Frozen Meat. — The market is dull, but prices are not quctably lower. f Butter. — Prices of butter are somewhat firmer. Leather ard Basils.— Since our last telegram prices of leather and basils in general are fr*om to £d per lb higher.
