* A FARM HOUSE DESTROYED. [Feoji Our Correspondent.] ASHBURTON, Sept. 16. News has been received in Ashburton that a 'bush fire was raging *t Stavcley yesterday. A quantity of sheep country on the side of Mount Somers was in flames, and the nor'-west gale had carried the tire ' into the bush. In the evening, several dwelling-houses were in danger, and ihe services at the church were discontinued, to enable the inhabitants to assist in stopping the progress of the fire. Mr Young's house and stable were burned, and the Staveley mill was in great danger, but steam was got up; and the surroundings saturated with water. It is thought thai many sheep and cattle -have perished. The wind abated about midnight, • arid the flames were got under. ' ,
