POLLARD'S OPERA COMPANY

To-day the ever-popular Pollards are expected to arrive from Tiroaru, -where they played a. season of three nights to exceptionally Large houses. On Monday night, ;Ch>istchurch playgoers wilL have an opportunity at the Theatre Koyal .rf witnessing " Florodora,". ... one of the most successful, of modern musical comedies. The company has been greatly strengthened since their last visit to Christchurch, and the old favourites are still retained. Twelve ballerinas have been specially engaged for the production of "Florodora," and the production will be on an elaborate scale as to scenery and dressing. "Florodora" ran for ten nights in Dunedin, and was exceedingly popular, and it i* doubtful if a larger audience than that which witnessed the opening performance has ever been seen, in the Dunedin Princess Theatre. The "Otago Daily Times ' said of the performance : "If Florodora established a record in Australia, it also achieved one on its opening night in Dunedin. Every part of the house Avas crowded to excess. When all the seating accommodation -was fully occupied people stood ;a the alley ways and at every point where they could catch a glimpse of the stage." There is not a dull moment in. the production, which goes with an electric vim from start to. finish. As the season is limited ti> twelve nights, "Florodora" can only bs staged for a few nights. The full caste of characters for " Florodora " is advertised.
