THE GOVERNMENT AND THE STRIKERS. .

PERTH, July 11. In reply to the ultimatum of the Government, the Railway Men's Association,-in-formed the Premier that it considered it useless to continue further negotiations, the Government not having agreed to the appointment of a Board, as Stipulated by the employees. The Premier accepted +<he mien's case with regard to the negotiations, but protested against the assertion that the Government rejected the suggestion for the appointment of the Board. Subsequently the Premier moved in the Legislative Assembly—"That this House deplores the strike, is of opinion that the men should return to work,' and that a Board should be appointed to consider the question of the demands for increased wages," The debate ia unfinished. '. v ' . ATTEMPTS TO WRECK A TRAIN. (Received July 11, 9.35 a.m.) It is reported that three attempts .were made yesterday to wreck the Coolgardie train, by placing sleepers on the rails.
