A HOOLIGAN IN COURT.

A youD:g Hooligan, named Blaikemore, was brought •before the Birmingham Beamier recently for a murderous assault on a youth named Fox.
The police said Blaikemore had done time for nearly murdering a policeman. Prisoner said someone hit him with a brick and an iron bar, and he went in search of a weapon to get his ows* back. Finding a' pan (handle I—a1 — a terrible-looking weapon exhibited in Court — he returned! to ias assailants. They attacked him with knuckle-dusters. On iihe jury finding Blaikemore "Guilty" he handed a written, request to the Recorder that instead of a long sentence he would give him a short seob&nco and the cat. If he got a chance he would' become a soldier, or saiZor. Tie Recorder sentenced him to twelve months' hard labour.
Prisoner was so delighted at the abortness of the sentence that he loudly cried " Hooray !" as he descended to the cells.
