THE VOLUNTEERS.
C.V.C. CAMP,
A very successful camp was held oy the Canterbury Yeomanry Cavalry during the Easter holidays at Meadowbank, Ellesmere, kindly lent by Mr G. Rhodes. The corps mustered fifty-six stiong, with Captain Lindsay in command. During the period spent in camp some excellent work was done. The Garrison Band, under 'Bandmaster Merton, was present on Sunday af-. ternoon, and played a number of selections? which were greatly enjoyed by the largi^ number of visitors who were present. In the evening the" men attended a church parade. Concerts were held every evening during the camp, and were attended by a number of friends of the corps. On ihe last night- the company marched to the house of Mr Rhodes, and Sergeant Melton, on behalf of the corps, returned thanks to Mr and Mrs Rhodes for their hospital**-,', and their, efforts to make the -camp such a success. After Mr and Mrs Rhodes had responded, they were accorded a hearty cheer. The camp broke up next morning, the different contingents returning to their respective homes.
