BURGESSES' ASSOCIATION.

— •+-. — — — A meeting, convened by the City and Suburban Burgesses' Association, was held (last evening in the Linwood Town Hall, when twenty-six* persons were present, and Mr A. Henderson' presided. Mr T. E. Toneycliffe explained the platform of the Association, and said that the City Councillors showed no desire to put forward a policy that would consolidate the city and surrounding boroughs in a Greater Christchurch. . Mrs Lissaman also spoke. Mr W. Ensom moved the resolution parried the previous evening >at Woolstoh — "That the meeting is of opinion that, in order to . promote municipal advancement and reform, the .city and' surrounding ■boroughs" should _amalgamate to form a Greater Christchurch." Mr H. G. Ell, M.H.R., seconded, and the motion was carried by ten, votes to' four*.
