ADDINGTON YARDS.

THIS DAY. [Per the "Star's" Pigeon- Express.] There .were fair yardings in most classes of stock at Addington to-day, and a large attendance. Fat Cattle.— The yarding of 224 head included a fair proportion of good beef, but the supply was in excess of the demand, and this caused a very irregular sale, in which secondary quality suffered to a slight extent, and several pens of prime steers were withdrawn. Good to prime beef ruled at from '20s to. 22s 6d per 1001 b, and secondary quality sold down to 17s. A nice line of twelve steers from Mr W. ©. Andrew, of Greenpark, made £7 17s 6d to £9 10s. Of the general entries, heavy-weight steers brought from £8 to £9, and extra <mod up to £9 10s, other sorts from £6 los to £7 10s, prime heifers from. £7 7s 6d to £8 2s 6d, and others £4 15s to £6 15s; best cows £7 to £8 7s 6d, and others £4 7s 6d to £6 10s. Store an© Dairy Caitlk. — There are no quotable lines in the store pens, and but little business was djne. The few good dairy cows in quite held their own, but inferior and secondary sorts were neglected. Fat Sheep. — A medium yarding of fat sheeo was made up principally of ewes, with very few really good wethers, but the sale had not started when our express left. Fat Lambs. — Freezing buyers appeared just as anxious as ever* to secure anything good, and the market for this class was brisk, all fit bringing at from 14s to 15s Bd, and up to 16s 4d for extra good. Little ' lots and unfinished brought from 10s 6d I io 13s. j Store Sheep.— The bulk of the entry , of store sheep were ewes, with a fair proportion of lambs, but withers were not present in force. The demand for sound breeding ewes continues, but aged and inferior sorts are not wanted. A line of very nice quality four, loot h lvnlf-breds from Mr C. Hurst, of Oakleiph, made 19s 6rl, two-tooth cross-bieds brought 16s to 16s Bd, good lines of two, lour, six and eight-tooth do 14s 6d to 16s iU, inferior ] do 13s to 14s, .sound-mouthed lines brought 13s to 14s lid. and aged and cull j sorts 10s 6d to 13s, n iow aged merino | ewes bringing 6s to 7s 6d. Although the demand for wethers was not very i keen, nearly all were sold with the exception of a line of 982, which were passed at 14s. Good lines of two-tooths brought 15s 3d to 16s, and inferior 13s lOd to 14s 6d, little lots raxigins; from 12s 2d to lls \ 66, a»d a line of 600 merino selling at 7s 2d. Good forward lambs were in demand at from 11s 6d to 13s, and nob auite so good sold at from 10s 8d to 11s 3d.
