A man named Richard Comes, a labourer, residing at Ponsonby, was taken to the hospital under unusual circumstances. His son was getting married, and he went to the wedding. He was noticed outside the entrance to the church to pull a phial out of his pocket and swallow the contents, which it is supposed consisted of laudanum. Dr M'Kella-r attended, the Aain, and he is progressingVavourably. It is believed that he is out o-f danger. He is over sixty years of age, and is said to have been* peculiar for some time past.
