STATUES OF THE QUEEN.
[Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Jan. 31. A meeting of citizens warmly supported the Governor's proposal for the erection of a statue of Queen Victoria in Wellington. Over £250 w>as raised in the room, including Iris Excellency's subscription of 26gs, and also 50gs from tibe Ministry, and other subscriptions of 25gs.
