THE LATE MR FOUNTAINE.

The funeral of the late John Edwin Fountaine, for many years manager of Sir John Sail's Hororata property, took place this afternoon, and. was largely attended. The procession, consisting of fourteen carriages and a number of other vehicles, left the residence of Sir John Hall, on Park Terrace, at noon, for the Linwood Cemetery. The coffin was borne to the hearse by Messrs J. Percy, W. Lizzard, T. Barson and W. Fuller, of Hororata Station, -who also acted as pallbearers at the grave. In the first carriage were Mrs Fountain©, her niece, and Mrs Allan. In the next were the Rev — Hamilton, and Mr Fountaine and Mr Roskridge, brother and 'brother-in-law of the deceased. In the th/rd were Sir John, Hall and his son. Amongst those present were Messrs Wallace, A. M'llwraithj M'lntyie, Caterer and a large number of employees on the Horomta. S+n't.ion. . .■•..'••: * •
