A deputation representing one hundred thousand natives belonging to tSje westerni provinces of Cape Colony, assured! Sir Alfred Milner that they were anxious to assist in repelling the raiders. Sir Alfred Milner replied, sympathetically, promising the natives protection, and 1 indicating that tihere were •ways of assisting the Britfeh withtout a recourse to"aims, especially by affording informatLontothe military.: The Afrikander members of the Cape Parliament are sending Messrs J. O. Merriman and J. U. Saner, members of Mr Sohreiner/a late Cabinet, and jMr Hofmeyer, to-England, to represent the situation to the House ol Commons. -■• v An .influemtial Boer Peace Ooiftunisstou is being formed at Bloemfonteini to explain to \De Wet and Steyni the leniency of Lordi Kitchener's terms of surrender.
