THE JUBILEE REGATTA.
The phenomenal marine festival at Lyttelton, celebrating the^ Jubilee of the Canterbury provincial district, fittingly forms the principal subject in this week's illustrated supplement of • the " Canterbury Times." The field of observation was so large, and 1 the crowds in the various localities were so dense, that several special photographers had to be emploj'ed. The concentrated result of their work has been the production of a number of illustrations that in future years must necessarily possess not only historic intex'est, but historic value as well. They show the massing of the visitors at the various " coigns of vantage," the giving of the -Maori war>-cry by the Native visitors afloat, types of the competing craft, the officials, wih'ose arduous work was so well don^, "and; a variety of interesting camera studies. .-.
