THE LATE DR IRVING.

The esteem in which the late Dr Irving was held was shown by the large and representative attendance at the funeral, which took place at the ChuTch of England Cemetery. Barbadoes Street, this afternoon. The open hearse on which the coffin was laid was covered with beautiful floral offerings. The coffin was borne tc- the hearse by a detachment of the Canterbury Mounted Rifles, of which the late Dr Irving had 'been surgeonmajor, aaid from the hearse to the grave it was carried by Cathedral sidesmen. The public wreaths included tributes from the Beautifying Association, the Chrysanthemum Society, the Cathedral sidesmen, and the Medical Association, while nearly all the medical men sent wreaths.
