. ' -W OUST MOUNTED RIFLA(|. The camp of the .Oust Mounted Rifles at Buckland presented a very busy appearance yesterday, when,' the weather proving suitable, the men were pUt through a series of movements in extended drill. Ab Cust, in the afternoon* th^e public school and the leading business places were closed on the occasion of sports at the camp. There was a large attendance df the residents of Oxford and Cust districts. The programme of events was interesting, the competition keen, and the results seemed to give general satisfaction. The arrangements were under the supervision of Captain Lance, Lieutenants Millton artd Johnson, Surgeon-Sergeant Dr Volckman, Sergeant-Major R. D. Atkinson, and Sergeants C. Ruddenklau and T. Hunger. The following are the results:— Best Troop Horse; fifst prize, silver-mount-ed inkstand— Sergeant C. Ruddenklau's Bob 1, Trooper W. Baxter's Yankee 2. Skirmishing in Sections; first prize, (our silver matchboxes— Corporal Ford Tipping' 3 section (Trooperß A>nott, Beattie and Gilbert) 1. Led Sections ; first iprize, silver salt-cellars — Trooper A.' Cockburft 1. Half- sections over Hurdles; first prize, two silver flasks— Trooper Whyte 1, Trooper S. J. 2. • Be3t Jumper; first prize, pair of silver saltcellars — Trooper Thomas Jones's Gip 1, Trooper S. J. Youngman's Jennie 2. Victoria. Gross; first prize, silver beaker cup — Trooper, Youngman's Jennie 1. 100 yds Flit Race, in review order— Trooper A. Cockburn 1, Trooper C. Cooper 2. Best-kept Tent— Corporal J. Garland'a (Corporals Kingsbury and Spencer, Troopers FoTrbes, Ruddenklau, M'Kie, Cromie and Wayland) 1. A smoke concert was held in the evening. The camp will break up to-day.
