SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

The monthly meeting of the Burwood School Committee was held on Tuesday ; present—Messrs Turner (chairman) j Roberts, Harrison,; Campbell and Thomas: .The master's report showed'that the average attendance had been very low, owing to the prevalence of whooping cough amongst the children. It was decided that the Truant Officer should take immediate action in respect to several children who are invariably absent. The Chairman and the Rev F. R. Inwood were appointed as a Visiting and Works Committee, and the Chairman was authorised to employ what labour he considered necessary to spread clay on the school grounds.
